Now you see it. Now you don’t!

I have a confession. I hate using sunscreen.
That’s because sunscreens feel like cr#@!
You can literally feel a sunscreen ‘sitting’ on top of your skin. It’s all thick and greasy and makes me feel hot and yucky. But what I hate the most is that they usually make me breakout. I’m trying to protect my skin, but in the process, I’m ruining it! It’s such a Catch-22 situation.

Which is why I’m constantly on the look out for good sunscreens that have these 5 qualities:
1. High SPF and PA +++ (that’s 3 pluses)
2. Non-greasy
3. Invisible on skin (no white mask)
4. Won’t give me breakouts
5. Waterproof and sweat-proof

It’s not easy, let me tell you.
In my whole life, I’ve only found 3 sunscreens that actually pass this test. Neutrogena sunscreen is one of them.

Here’s why I think it’s so fabulous and worth considering when you’re sunscreen shopping.

It’s insanely lightweight.

What’s really great about this sunscreen is that you don’t even know it’s there. I almost disappears with 3 minutes of application. Poof!

It doesn’t get me all sticky and shiny.

This sunscreen feels thick to touch but once it goes over my skin, it actually feels nice and ‘clean’. There’s absolutely no greasiness. No shine. Nothing. It won’t leave your skin matte. But it won’t leave behind a greasy film either. (Personally, I don’t like ‘matte’ as that looks unnatural. Healthy skin looks soft and dewy, never dry and pasty.)

It doesn’t break me out.

My biggest concern when using a sunscreen is that it will give me pimples. I’ve bought so many sunscreens and never used them more than twice as they made me breakout like crazy. This one passed that test with flying colours. It’s non-comedogenic – which basically means it won’t clog my pores. Yippee!

It’s high on protection (SPF and PA+++).

We buy sunscreen to protect our skin from the harsh sun. So it beats me why anyone would buy a sunscreen with low SPF. I mean, if you’re going to put it on, you might as well get the highest protection you can find right?
This one gives me 50+ protection as well as PA+++ so I can stay out for longer without worrying.

It’s waterproof and sweat-proof.

Do I need this for everyday use? Hell, ya!
This sunscreen lets me sweat without a worry. Whether I’m working out or it’s a hot, humid day, it stays put. And it’s perfect for rainy (or snowy) days too.
And again, if I’m getting something extra, why would I not take it?!

MY VERDICT: It ticks all the boxes that makes a good sunscreen. And the fact that it suits even oily, combination and acne-prone skin makes it even better!

This sunscreen has found a permanent place on my dressing table (and travel bag). Try it for yourself and don’t forget to let me know what you think of it.
