This ‘Ninja in a jar’ beats the s#!* out of oil, acne and blemishes… naturally!

My best friend gifted this product to me when I was pregnant with my first baby. I was super depressed as my skin was really misbehaving and I looked like a teenage boy’s (with mammoth pimples all over my face). Thank you hormones!
Since I was preggers, I couldn’t use the usual acne treatments and had to resort to all natural remedies, which weren’t working as well as they should have.

After complaining nonstop over the phone and sending dozens of pictures of my angry, pimply skin to my bestie, she finally made a trip to the Forest Essentials store and bought this for me – hoping to shut me up. And it worked!

I religiously mixed a teaspoon of the ubtan with Rose Water (also from Forest Essentials, which I absolutely love) and some yogurt and gently rubbed it all over my face in tiny round movements. I then let it just ‘sit’ on my skin (like a face pack) and dry out a little, before rinsing it off.

My skin started clearing up. Slowly but surely. The ubtan thoroughly removed the extra oil that was making me breakout. And made my skin squeaky clean. I felt it was perhaps a bit too drying and so, I would immediately follow it up with Aloe Gel, which also helped calm my angry skin.

After using it for 3 weeks, I saw a visible difference in my skin. The breakouts were less (though they didn’t go away entirely), the marks seemed to be fading faster and my skin looked a whole lot brighter. It also removed fine facial hair…unexpected bonus!

The biggest downside for me is the smell. My skin smells of methi (fenugreek)! Super gross! Even my darling husband who usually sticks by my side would stay a mile away from me when I had this on. So be warned ladies. Though the pros definitely outweigh the cons.

After my son’s birth, my skin cleared up on its own (Yay!). But whenever it starts to misbehave (PMS I hate you), I quickly pull this ubtan out of the drawer to whip my skin back into shape. Now, if only I could do that to my naughty toddler!!! 😉

MY VERDICT: Superb cleanser for blemish-prone skin. It cleans, exfoliates and soothes in one step. Now if only they could do something about the smell…
