A glass of water for your skin. That’s what it is!

If there were a competition for the oiliest T-zone in the whole world, I would win!

When I was younger, I did loads of stupid things to reduce the greasiness.

• Like washing my face many times a day.
• Using blotting paper.
• Applying loads of powder.
• Applying mattifiers.

Now these worked. For some time. And then the greasiness was back. With a vengeance!

Then finally, I realized what I really needed. A good moisturizer!!

I know that sounds totally absurd, but to reduce the greasiness, a good moisturizer is key. By moisture, I don’t mean oil. I mean water. The minute my skin gets thirsty, it goes into overdrive and produces more oil to compensate for the loss of moisture.

And then I met Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel. Here’s why it features on my list of favourite moisturizers.

It is the most hydrating ingredient in the world! It can literally ‘pull’ moisture from the surrounding air and hold it on your skin – so that your skin stays moist and hydrated. In fact, just 1 molecule of Hyaluronic acid can absorb 1000 ml of water!

The best part? This hyaluronic-packed moisturizer works on ALL skin types. So it doesn’t matter whether you have oily or dry or sensitive skin, if you need a boost of hydration, this will do just fine!

It quenches my skin’s thirst.

This stuff is like a glass of water for my skin. As soon as I apply this gel, my skin immediately feels hydrated, plumped and happy.

It balances my skin.

That dreadful T-zone I was moaning about earlier? Not so terrible now.
This moisturizer makes the oilier parts of my face less greasy, while the drier parts are more plumped up.

It’s really soothing.

The elements really mess with my skin. Sun burn? Wind chill? No problem! This product immediately calms my injured skin.

You can decide how much (or how little) you need.
If it’s a hot sunny day, I use a pea-sized amount to cover my face. It absorbs super fast and leaves my skin feeling clean and cool.
If it’s a cold day, I use twice the amount. It hydrates my skin and leaves a dewy finish.

It works as a hydrating mask.

If my skin feels tired or dehydrated, I apply a coin-size amount all over my face and neck and leave it on for 20 minutes. Then, I just tissue off any remaining product. It’s as if my skin has gotten an injection of moisture.

This works particularly well before a hot date as it gives my skin a plump, dewy, glowy finish. I never get that awful oily look because it has no oil!

MY VERDICT: If you’re looking for hydration (and only that), you really don’t have to look any further. It a good no-frills hydrating moisturizer. Don’t expect miracles. This doesn’t promise that (thank God!). Just plump, hydrated skin.
