There’s really no need to act your age!
When it comes to anti-aging, I believe that prevention is better than cure. So I started anti-aging products the day I turned 25 (and that was 10 years ago!).
I’ve invested in the best and unfortunately, extremely expensive products. Thank you SK-II and La Mer for burning a HUGE hole in my pocket.
So when I was nearing the end of my fancy jar of cream, I thought maybe, just maybe, I should give Olay Regenerist a shot. I wanted to see if it is really that good at 1/10th the price. After all, it does have a cult following.
So I got myself a jar. To see if I had been wasting money on expensive luxury creams when I could get the same results from this red pot.
I was really psyched to try it. I took a pea-sized amount of the cream, warmed it between my hands and patted it on my skin. I thought it may be a bit too thick for my oily skin, but it sank in beautifully. And though it may be a wee bit greasy, I personally like that feeling on my skin at night.
The morning after, my skin had looked healthy and happy. Smooth and plump. No breakouts. Nothing bad. It was a good start.
But I have to admit, over time, I started missing my expensive creams. Maybe it is the texture of luxury products, or the smell – whatever it was, I missed them. So I went back. And Olay Regenerist found itself lying at the back of my drawer.
Until, a weekend trip to Phuket. I was packing my bag and didn’t want to carry my expensive cream as I was afraid it would break in my bag. So I just dumped the Olay in. After all, it was only for the weekend. And I liked it. I just wasn’t in love with it.
After a full day in the hot summer sun, I returned to my room with a sun burn (despite generous helpings of sunscreen)! My skin was red and painful. I gently patted Olay Regenerist all over my face. It really hurt.
The next morning I woke up to nothing. Nothing! My skin was fine. No redness. No burn. No nothing. It looked…normal! This stuff was actually good. I just hadn’t given it a proper chance.
When I got back home, I decided to finish my jar of Olay and not go running back to my luxury creams. And while I still love them too, I have found a special place in my heart for Olay Regenerist.
MY VERDICT: It’s a hardworking cream that delivers on what it promises – even, plump and firm skin. And it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. You really can’t go wrong with this one!
