I had no idea what awesome products there are for babies and toddlers until I became a mommy. And a whole new world opened up for me.
It started out with me using it on my kids, but then, I realized that some of these products are actually great for me to use too – sometimes for completely different issues!
Here are a few baby products that work brilliantly for us too. I can’t believe I didn’t know about them earlier!
Nipple Cream
for chapped lips
What? Nipple cream? Nah, I’m looking for a lip balm.
Yup, this awesome nipple cream that prevents sore, cracked nipples works brilliantly on sore, cracked lips too. And it’s made from pure lanolin – which means you can totally lick your lips if you want to!
Boy, does this stuff work! My super chapped lips become nice, soft, plump and pink after putting on this sticky goop. It doesn’t taste yummy like your lip balm, but it does sooooo much more than a regular balm ever can.
Every time I enter Mothercare to buy it, the sales staff tells me what a great product it is…blah blah blah… Little do they know what I’m actually buying it for!!! Tee hee!
Stuff I ♥️: Lansinoh Nipple Cream is made from pure lanolin and is totally edible too.
Diaper Rash Cream
for razor or waxing burns and acne.
Back from a waxing treatment and your legs are all red and sore? Just layer on a thick coat of Diaper Rash Cream. It’s made of zinc oxide that will instantly calm and soothe your irritated and sensitized skin. Within minutes, the pain and redness subside. It’s magic!!!
Feel a pimple coming up? Spot treat it with Diaper Rash Cream!
Once again, the high concentration of zinc oxide targets, soothes and heals the breakout. Your pimple will disappear faster and so will the mark. Woo hoo!!!
Stuff I ♥️: Desitin Diaper Rash Cream is my go-to product. It’s brimming with pure zinc oxide and it literally soothes my skin and relieves any discomfort within minutes of applying it. Love love.
Wet Wipes
for cleaning…ummm…everything.
I use this for everything.
Ate a sandwich? Wipe dirty hands.
Feeling lazy to wash my face? Wipe face.
Laptop looking dirty? Wipe laptop.
Spilled wine on table? Wipe table.
Need to use a public loo? Ok, too much information!
But you get the picture.
Stuff I ♥️: I always have a travel-sized pack of Pigeon Wet Wipes in my bag. I love how soft these wipes are and they are made with 99% pure water, have no fragrance, no alcohol, but still remove all kinds of stuff. Amazing!
Baby sunscreen
for sensitive and acne-prone skin types.
Chemical sunscreens are way too harsh if your skin is sensitive or breaks out often. A physical sunscreen is what you need. Physical sunscreens are made up of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide, which leave that annoying white film over your skin. But these ingredients actually soothe and calm your skin, and even prevent acne from occurring. It’s totally worth it!
Stuff I ♥️: Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Lotion WetForce for Sensitive Skin and Children is my favourite sunscreen of all time. It glides on like a second skin, filling every gap and crevice on my face to give the best protection ever. It does leave a slight white film, but it’s so even, you hardly notice it.
Baby essential oil
for unwinding after a stressful day.
Baby essential oils are blends of really pure essential oils such as lavender, chamomile, ylang ylang, etc. that help calm down an overtired, cranky baby (pretty much what you are at the end of a hard day).
Just take a few drops and rub it into the soles of your feet. Why?
Because every nerve line in the body ends in your feet. So when you apply it to your soles, the essential oils work fast to calm your frazzled nerves.
You can also add a few drops on your pillowcase before you sleep. You will be amazed at how well you will sleep – like a baby!
Stuff I ♥️: Young Living Gentle Baby smells divine and instantly calms me down. One whiff and I can exactly feel my stiff shoulders starting to loosen up. I even travel with it. It really helps on long haul flights or stressful business trips.
Mosquito Repellent patches
to do just that – repel mosquitos
Don’t you just hate it when you’re wearing a dress and mosquitos are having a buffet on your legs?!
It’s time to keep those tiny monsters away. And nothing works better than the smell of citronella. Mosquito repellent patches made for babies is bursting with the smell of citronella, and since it’s for babies, the harmful chemicals like deet are not present.
You may find it a bit overpowering to start with, but it’s sooo much better than swollen itchy bites. Just stick it on any part of your clothing before you step out and you’re covered!
Stuff I ♥️: Tiger Mosquito Repellent Patches come individually packed so I can stash them in my handbag, so I’m always prepared in case the need arises. Super convenient!
