Every day we put in effort to look suave and stylish (think of those bad hair days, or the days when your winged eyeliner just doesn’t come on point). But a lot of times we forget the basics. Style is much more interesting and intriguing than fashion.
“Fashion fades, only style remains the same.” – Coco Chanel
You can look stylish in a nine-yard drape and even shorts and a crop top. It’s all about your attitude and how you carry it.
Here are 5 tips to look effortlessly stylish that will surely help you go a long way!
So ladies, grab a cup of coffee and take notes.
1. Unleash the power of make-up.

Use make-up wisely and it will become your best friend. You can transform your look instantly with the power of make-up. And trust us when we say you don’t need those expensive products. If you do the basic application right, it would work wonders.
NOTE: Choose make-up as per your skin type and skin complexion. Use colors that complement your skin tone.
Use a BB cream with a dash of kohl and bright lipstick, you’d be sorted for a casual day look. In the evenings you can play with darker colors, smudged eyes, and even glitter or shimmer.
2. Get the right accessories.

Accessories can make or break your outfit. So make sure you style them just right! The accessories should be in sync with the overall look and feel of the outfit.
For a boho look you can experiment with head chains, fringed or feather earrings, dream catcher pendant, midi rings etc. Silver jewelry best complements desi outfits and adds a rustic charm. While polka, pearls and kundan accessories are great for wedding festivities.
You can also highlight one statement piece – a necklace, arm candy or beautiful earrings. It looks super classy.
3. Put your best foot forward.

Pairing the right shoes with your outfit is of utmost importance. After all, you can judge the character of a person by the shoes she wears.
Flaunt beautiful feet! Pamper yourself and get a pedicure done before your step into those colorful flip-flops. If you are not comfortable in heels, you can experiment with different kinds of flats or even wedges.
Pair those pretty jutties with kurtas and ethnic wear, the edgy gladiators with shorts and the effervescent pom-pom ballerinas with jeans.
Make sure you get the right shoe size. You don’t want to be hassled by a size smaller or bigger ruining your mood and look.
4. Let your skin do the talking.
We all want that picture perfect skin. Make-up can hide a few flaws, but the happiness of having beautiful and healthy glowing skin is unmatched. Take care of your skin and follow a skin care regime based on your skin type. You don’t need to spend hours in the salon. Follow quick and easy home remedies and you are good to go.
Exfoliate your skin every 2–3 days (once a week if you have sensitive skin), use a good sunscreen, pamper yourself with natural face packs made with multani mitti, besan, sandalwood powder and rosewater.
Don’t forget to keep your skin well moisturized for that rosy glow.
5. Be unique.

Whether it is wearing oxblood lipstick in summers or having ombre dyed hair, do what you like and you’d certainly look supremely stylish.
Don’t commit the foolishness of following the herd and becoming a fashion victim. Dress as you like and as per your body type. Let your style stand out. And lovelies ‘Dare to be Daring’.
How you dress or style yourself is an integral part of your personality. Be it a comfy t-shirt and jeans or a jazzy anarkali, palazzos or a denim dress, be comfortable and you’ll be stylish.
P.S.: You’re never fully dressed without a smile!
So smile and the world be your runway…
