1. A Shave Brush.
Ok, this is not what it looks like. A shave brush is actually an excellent tool to thoroughly clean and exfoliate your face. It does a great job of lathering your face wash, and deep cleans every nook and cranny of your face. The bristles help pull out the dirt and sebum trapped in your skin, while the circular motion gives a micro-massage, improving blood circulation.
Tip: The quality of the brush is super important. I prefer a badger-hair shave brush. It feels all harsh and bristle-y when dry, but when saturated with water, it is unbelievably soft and gentle on your skin.
How to use: Drench the shave brush in water till soaked. Then add just a smidge of facewash on it. Now rotate it on your face, paying extra attention to places such as the corners of your nose, upper lip and jaw. After just a minute, rinse off! Your face has been cleaned and exfoliated in one-shot. So easy!
2. Sunglasses.
Sunglasses…a skin tool???!!! Yup. Wearing sunglasses actually helps prevent wrinkles. True story. Think about it, when you don’t wear your shades, you squint. Over time, squinting leads to crow’s feet and frown lines. Also, a good pair will block out UV rays, so the delicate skin surrounding your eyes is protected. So whether you pick cat-eye inspired, oversized or retro – just don’t be seen without your sunnies!
3. The Beauty Blender.
This little pink egg-like sponge has got makeup artists and celebrities the world over swearing by it. So what does it do and why is it so great?
It applies foundation or BB cream like nothing else ever has! Because of its unique shape, you can get to the hard-to-reach areas (like the creases of your nose and under the eyes) super easily. And its swede-like texture lets you blend makeup so well, you get the most polished, flawless finish ever!
BUT THAT’S NOT IT’S ONLY USE.
When you apply sunscreen with your fingers, the coverage is very uneven. Some parts have more, others less. Plus, sunscreen tends to leave that white film over your skin. Try doing it with the Beauty Blender. Put a dollop of sunscreen on the back of your hand, then dip the sponge into it. Now just bounce the sponge along your skin. Your sunscreen will go on sooooo smoothly and evenly, you will wonder how you ever did without this little magic sponge.
4. The Tangle Teezer.
This is one brush you need in your arsenal if your hair gets all knotty. It helps remove the toughest tangles without snagging, pulling or yanking your hair. The best part, you can use it on dry or even wet hair.
Normally, combing through wet hair causes a lot of hair fall and damage as your hair is at its weakest. But the Tangle Teezer bristles are short and different lengths so it’s much kinder to your hair as it tends to glide through it versus pulling it.
The ergonomically shaped brush fits perfectly into the palm of your hand and is hands down the most effective tool in removing those tangles painlessly.
5. The Clarisonic.
This tool is a beauty game-changer. In just a minute, you can get a spa-like, squeaky-clean complexion and a work-out for your facial muscles. And it’s gentle enough to use every day!
The Clarisonic is a vibrating face brush that thoroughly cleans your skin way better than your fingers ever can. The reason for this is that the brush-head vibrates at an insanely high speed (300 oscillations per second!).
Think of it as a garden sprinkler system cleansing the gunk out of every pore. The vibrations also gently massage your skin, improving blood circulation. Oh, and did I mention it is waterproof, so you can take it with you in the shower? What’s there not to love?!
What the Clarisonic does to your skin:
- Makes skin incredibly soft you will wonder how you lived without it!
- Skin care products absorb much better. You can literally feel your skin soaking up the serums and moisturizers.
- Lastly, makeup goes on soooo much smoother.
Important: First-time users may breakout so don’t freak. The stimulation can cause bacteria to rise to the surface in the form of a pimple. If that happens, cut back to using it every alternate day, but keep at it. Things should clear up after about two weeks. Amazing skin is waiting for you on the other side.
